Teotihuacán, Mexico

Had a nice one day trip to the pyramids of Teotihuacán. The big pyramid (there are two) is the third biggest in the world- quite cool. Temperature-wise however damn hot! As you can see...

Yummie lunch time-out. Tacos with different sauces, served in a cave where it was nice and chilly.

Another day-trip led us to Coyoacan and Xochimilco, both suburbs of Mexico City. A very relaxed atmosphere there.

Mexico City, Mexico

Took us some time to upload this last post with Mexico City. Coming back to Germany and Denmark has been a lot more stressful than the travelling, we guess.

On one of the first days we got in contact we some college students. First we weren't sure what they wanted or if we had to be worried. It turned out that they just wanted to speak to us in English to train their language skills on a Sunday. Interesting experience!

Right after talking with the students we went into the Anthropological museum - a nice one! In all, we have been to a lot of museums on our trip, which were rather dissappointing compared to that.

At the big plaza, some indians dancing. A true show for the tourists.

We also met Thorsten, with whom Oliver graduated school with back in 1999. He is working and living in Mexico City now for over 2 years. Oliver is just having an original Mexican tequila, but can't get used to that stuff.

Lima, Peru

In Lima we only planned to spend

Machu Picchu, Peru

The arrival at the sungate was first rather disappointing becuase there was fog everywhere. When we went down the last 30 minutes or so we could see already a bit more and after 2 hours it was compeltely sunny and we had a beautiful sight.

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Peru

The Inca trail. It was harder than expected but then again: we asked for it, so i guess we got what we deserve. But besides the exhaustion, it was one of the most amazing things we have both ever done.

And it was raining... even so much that Juliane had to cut her pants.

Cusco, Peru

Finally in Cusco. We had some very nice days at Lake Titicaca, but were really looking forward to get to the city we heard so many good things of. And not without a reason - a beautiful place!

Also a good place to buy some paintings from local artists.

And finally we got to taste some guinea pig (Meerschweinchen!). Tasted a bit like a bunny and had not very much meat but for sure worth trying.

Nice view upon the main plaza and the cathedral.
